Inmate Text App
Inmate texting apps are the most effective way to stay in contact with a family member or friend who is currently behind bars. These apps are specially designed to comply with prison regulations and permit family members and friends to send and receive messages images, photos, eCards video calls, and money into their trust account at the prison. There are additional federal text inmate inmate apps that offer additional services such as phone calls and video visits.
The JPay application, for instance, enables family and friends to send money into the trust account of an inmate, along with images, emails, eCards, and video grams. It also lets them make personalized postcards with personal photos. And it provides a safer and more secure alternative to traditional mail.
Another popular texting application for prisoners is GettingOut. It offers "simple reliable and secure communication" between inmates and their loved family members. The app, which is available in certain correctional facilities, lets inmates upload photos and text their family and friends on their tablets. It costs inmates $0.25 per message and loved ones pay for the data used to view their messages (but not for explicit pictures). The GettingOut app can be used to upload a photo to Facebook or Foursquare or check-in on Foursquare and even add an YouTube video.
